Am I one of the 10 most creative people in the Canadian Marketing industry? The suggestion is as flattering as it is unlikely. As we delve into the possible answers to this question, I will first address those of you who already know what I’m talking about. I’ll get to the rest of you shortly.

Gulf oil spill update

I actually had a pretty good weekend and I’ll tell you all about it soon, but first here’s some cold, ugly reality.

The latest bad news about the Gulf oil spill comes via @ebertchicago. Have a look at an animated simulation of a satellite’s eye view of the Gulf spill from April 22 to May 3.

If it makes you feel any better, you can blame it on Dick Cheney. I’m guessing it won’t though.

And now, a word from Hitler

I’m sure you’re all familiar with the Downfall YouTube phenomenon, and the recent content ID blocking put in place by YouTube, ostensibly at the behest of the copyright owners, preventing existing parodies from being viewed and new ones being uploaded. You may also be aware that a number of parodies have been uploaded in the past week which offer commentary on these events.

Apparently it’s da Vinci Code week

Apparently it’s da Vinci Code week on the History Channel. It’s their answer to Shark Week, I suppose. I’ve still managed to avoid both the movie and the book, though I did accidentally read The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, one of whose co-authors appears in this evening’s greasily compelling conjectumentary Beyond the da Vinci Code.
